Caesar Pasta Salad

This easy side dish combines two favorite classics, Caesar salad with pasta salad.Notes:

  1. Substitute romaine or baby spinach for frisee. Any type of pasta will work in place of penne.

Ingredients

  • Frisee — 4 Cups

Cheese & Lunchmeat

  • Parmesan Cheese, Grated — 1⁄3 Cup

Dairy & Eggs

  • Sour Cream — 1 Tablespoon

Grains & Pasta

  • Penne Pasta — 1⁄2 Pound

Spice & Baking

  • Black Pepper
  • Garlic Powder — 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  • Kosher Salt

Condiments, Oils & Dressings

  • Champagne Vinegar — 1 Tablespoon
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil — 1 Teaspoon
  • Mayonnaise — 3 Tablespoons
  • Worcestershire Sauce — 1 Teaspoon

Prep Steps

  1. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, grated Parmesan cheese, champagne vinegar and garlic powder. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cover and refrigerate.
  2. Chop, tear or snip frisee lettuce into small, bite-sized pieces to measure indicated amount. Place in a large mixing bowl.

Cook Steps

  1. Fill a medium saucepan 2/3 high with water and cover. Place over high heat. Proceed with next step as water comes to a boil.
  2. Once water is boiling, add 1/2 tablespoon of salt and stir in the penne pasta. Cook until tender but with a slight bite, about [10-11 minutes], or according to the package instructions.
  3. Place pasta in a medium heat-proof bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Toss to coat, then place bowl in refrigerator until pasta is cool, about [10 minutes].
  4. Add cooled pasta to the bowl of frisee lettuce. Pour in creamy Parmesan dressing and toss to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Transfer the Caesar pasta salad to a serving bowl or dinner plates. Ready to eat!
