Broccoli, cheddar and ham is a timeless flavor combination that pleases all taste buds, especially packed into a flaky pie crust.Notes:
- Quiche can be served hot out of the oven or at room temperature, so it’s a great dish to serve guests. Prepare the broccoli and whisk the eggs, milk and cream together in advance. Then, build the quiche just before party time and bake it as guests are arriving. Or, bake it all in advance and warm it just before serving.
Keep the pie crust frozen until ready to build the quiche.

Prep Steps
- Trim the broccoli florets off the stem into bite-size pieces to measure the indicated amount.
- Cut the slices of Canadian bacon into 1/4 inch dice to measure the indicated amount.
Cook Steps
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Fill a large pot 2/3 high with water and cover. Place over high heat. Proceed with next step as water comes to a boil.
- Prepare a plate with layers of paper towels. Set plate near the sink for the broccoli.
- Crack the egg and separate the yolk from the white. Place the yolk in a medium mixing bowl. Discard the white, or save for a different recipe (such as an egg white omelet or meringue!). Crack the remaining eggs into the same bowl with the yolk. Whisk to combine well, then whisk in the heavy cream and milk. Season with salt and pepper.
- Once water is boiling, add 2 teaspoons of salt and stir in the broccoli. Cook briefly until broccoli is bright green and slightly tender, about [2-3 minutes].
- After you’ve strained the broccoli, place it on the plate of paper towels and dry thoroughly.
- Keep the prepared pie crust in the aluminum tin and place it on a sheet pan. Scatter half the broccoli around the bottom of the shell, and top with half the cheese and half the Canadian bacon. Finish with another layer of broccoli, cheese and Canadian bacon.
- Pour the egg and milk mixture into the pie shell evenly over the filling.
- Transfer the sheet pan with the quiche to the preheated oven. Cook for [20 minutes], then rotate the sheet pan 180 ° to ensure even cooking. Bake for another 15-25 minutes until eggs are set and crust is golden. Test the quiche by shaking the pan. If the center is still loose, continue baking. If center is set, yet soft, remove from oven.
- After you remove the quiche from the oven, let it cool slightly before slicing.
- Slice the broccoli, cheddar and Canadian bacon quiche into 4 quarters. Transfer a wedge to each plate and serve warm.
